18 Mac Twitter Clients

by Stuart

As the popularity of Twitter grows we often find ourselves experimenting with various desktop twitter clients. Then you end up with a few different accounts & realise that you need to find another client that supports multiple accounts.

We’ve put together a list of our favourite Mac Twitter Clients (in the order that we love them), we’ve also covered our one favourite functionality of each client (such as multi-account support) so you know which clients to try next.

  • Is Eventbox the same as Socialite? They look identical! I've found with all the Mac clients that I can't find one that will autofill my mentions (as echofon on the iPhone does). Do any of these do that?
  • Socialite used to be Eventbox as far as i can tell.
  • AHHHG! as a person that invested heavily in Apple Systems ppc I am in NO hurry to upgrade my hardware. SO WTF? abandoned by apple and everyone else it seems. where are those years of support i got used too? I am using Tweetdeck now, it still works and is upgrade3d. but i would like a teensy app for this sometimes, as I be doing other stuff at the same time

Really? You're that attached to PPC? Then be prepared for the rest of the world to leave you in the dust. sorry, but PPC's are ALL at least 3 years old now and some models are entering their fifth year of service (with the exception of 2 PowerMac G5 models). It's kind of like wanting to put fuel-injection in your '58 T-Bird. Ain't gonna happen. (And try getting that kind of life from any PC.)
  • echofon ftw! kiwi for 2nd spot.
  • I hear great things about Nambu, and would love to get in on the action! So far, no luck. However, I did slide a tweet over to @nambucom to see if it would be possible to get a beta code. Currently a user of Tweetie, but I'd like to see Facebook and Twitter combined in one client with a sleek mac interface.
  • Great post. Note that I'm trying to get the the collective decision making of the Twitterverse together to answer which is the best overall Twitter client. If possible, weigh in here:
