by Stuart

If you’re a freelancer then you undoubtedly have to send invoices each month. Hopefully you’re not still doing this manually but if you are then open your eyes to the world of online invoicing. Online Invoicing applications can easily communicate in with your applications such as Basecamp, Paypal & can even act as a payment gateway so your invoicees can pay you directly.

We have developed one nice FREE invoicing application for freelancers and service providing companies: http://www.litesale.com/litesale/show.jspa

Some distinguishable features to mention (besides invoice creation and management) are:

    - PDF invoices in YOUR language

    - Cash receipts

    - Incoming invoices (receive invoices directly to litesale)

    - Email and SMS notifications

    - Marketing campaigns (both email and SMS)
  • I have used Freshbooks and Zoho. They were both OK, but I wanted something that connects all of my "overhead." As it was I was (mis)using Bizroof for contact management, a gob of spreadsheets for time tracking, and an invoice application when it came time to get paid.

I stumbled on Ofuz (http://ofuz.com) which is working to link all of these in one database and interface. I like the idea and have been using it for a month now. I am pretty pleased. This would be the direction that I would like to see: Something that solves ALL of these annoying non-billable problems at once.
  • Hi here is another one, It’s only $25.00,receive all future software updates free, no monthly fees.

  • We used Blinksale for 1 or 2 years and loved it. We then moved to Freeagentcentral accounting software - which is brilliant - and now invoice from within there. I highly recommend both services, depending on your needs.
Our new business venture needs more tools so moobiz is the front runner.

    Hey All

I have been using the services of http://www.invoicera.com for quite sometime now and they are coming up with the new Invoicera with features like time-tracking, expense tracking, import function, and much more. Check out their blog at http://www.invoicera.com/blog for updates

    Cheers!!!

We just released an invoicing application that would complement this list, but targets an underserved market - mobile users.

Bill On Site is a full-featured web-based invoicing system, with a unique twist: you can use Bill On Site on your mobile phone, enabling small business owners to send invoices to their customers while still on their client's site. All you need is a semi-recent phone – one with a web browser on it – and internet access on your phone.

Other invoicing services offer web-based access, but completely ignore the mobile web, making sending invoices on the go difficult at best, and impossible at worst. For Bill On Site, it's our sole focus, and something we're working on improving all the time.

All accounts come with a free 30 day trial, so if you wanted to try out the service, go ahead. No payment information is collected, so it is absolutely no-risk.

  • That's a good list of invoicing apps, but if you want to add accounting, project management, as well as CRM and other features for a similar price you should take a look at Moobiz invoicing software, you get access to an app library through which you can tailor the web application to your needs.

    Prices start at £15/month

Well, I've been using Clear Books - http://www.clearbooks.co.uk/ myself and must say I'm pretty happy with it.
  • I'd like to add Time59 to the list. It offers time and expense tracking, online invoicing and accounts receivable. It's aimed at solo professionals and is priced at $49.95 per year for unlimited use. A new feature is Trust Accounting for lawyers.
